Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Systems Learning & Teaching Committee Remit

To formulate and drive forward policy and strategy regarding the education provision by the Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Systems.  This will include education activities developed as part of the DDI Agritech Talent programme at Easter Bush, and will cover undergraduate, postgraduate and non-credit bearing education activities (with the proviso that PG and non-credit bearing activities need approval by the PGLTC).  The committee will review curriculum, assessment, feedback and student support in line with the CMVM and UoE Learning and Teaching strategies.  Main duties will be to:

  • Review course content and delivery as informed by staff and student feedback to ensure high quality content and delivery within all courses and programmes.
  • Ensure University of Edinburgh Taught Assessment Regulations are adhered to.
  • Ensure that the Veterinary School Quality Assurance process is followed, all documentation is prepared and that the courses and programmes will be reviewed as requested.
  • Consider future education developments: both new opportunities and challenges. 

Timing of meetings:

Four meetings per year (likely to be March, June, September and December)

Governance:

Report to Board of Studies (BoS), School Executive Team (SET), College Undergraduate Learning and Teaching Committee (CULT) and Postgraduate Learning and Teaching Committee (PGLTC) as needed.
