CSG EDI Group Remit
Vision
The University of Edinburgh has a strong and long-standing commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and to promoting a positive environment, which ensures fairness, challenges prejudice, and celebrates difference. As the largest of the University’s Professional Services Groups, Corporate Services Group (CSG) is a significant contributor to the University’s EDI objectives. We play our part in fostering an inclusive and respectful culture and a safe and welcoming environment in which all staff and students can flourish.
Remit
- To provide strategic direction for the implementation of the CSG vision for EDI.
- To develop and monitor the implementation of an Equality Action Plan programme for CSG that supports the University to achieve its EDI objectives.
- To actively support University level initiatives designed to promote EDI.
- To advise CSG on policy and practice matters relating to EDI.
- To monitor the demographic composition of the CSG workforce (including recruitment, retention and progression of staff) and to advise, influence and support actions on identified trends where necessary
- To promote awareness of EDI issues and best practice within CSG.
- To advise on, initiate and facilitate positive change in the culture, environment and working practices within CSG.
Governance and Operation
- The Group shall meet as required to fulfil its remit and will meet at least three times per academic year.
- The group will have subgroups as appropriate, such as the Equality Impact Assessment sub-group.
- Once approved by the Group, minutes of previous meetings will be published on the University Committees page.
- The Committee will report to the main EDI Committee and also provide updates in monthly CSG Directors’ meetings.
